Day one: Beaune

Visit and wine tasting in  Maison Joseph Drouhin. 
The wine House Joseph Drouhin  was founded in 1880. With its 73 hectares (182.5 acres), the Joseph Drouhin Domaine is one of the largest estates in the region. The Domaine was put together through the years, thanks to judicious purchases and agreements between families. Some vineyards are among the most famous in Burgundy, such as Clos des Mouches, Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne.

Guided tour of Beaune and of the Hospices de Beaune or Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune. A former charitable almshouse. It was founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of Burgundy, as a hospital for the poor. The original hospital building, the Hôtel-Dieu, one of the finest examples of French fifteenth-century architecture, is now a museum. Services for patients are now provided in modern hospital buildings.

An important charity wine auction is held in November each year (formerly in the great hall of the Hôtel-Dieu).

14.00-15.00 a walk throuhg the most famous appelation Grand Cru and Premier Cru Romanee Conti
15.30-17.30 trip to Dijon, guided tour in Dijon.
17.30-18.30 back to Beaune
20.00-22.00 Dinner in the village of Levernois
